Husband and wife, Michelle Jimenez and Andrea Meggiato, came to the Shark Tank showcasing their signature product, The Pizza Cupcake. Using their trade secret dough, homemade sauce, and high-quality ingredients, The Pizza Cupcake is revolutionizing the way that we think of frozen pizza. These frozen snacks can be shipped directly to consumers from New York City, or they can be enjoyed at catered events or sports games. At only 160 calories, the Sharks absolutely loved the taste and flavors of The Pizza Cupcake.

Andrea was born and raised in Italy where he perfected the art of pizza making. Michelle, an event planner in New York City, knows how important it is to serve delicious and simple snacks. Together, the pair created a winning combination of a product that has generated $77,000 in year-to-date sales. In order to increase sales, Michelle and Andrea need to ramp up production through the use of a co-packer as they are currently making all of the product by hand. Although they have recently landed a co-packer, the duo is looking for a Shark that is willing to help them get started with that copacker. They also would like to find a strategic partner who is willing to invest $125,000 in exchanges for 5% equity in The Pizza Cupcake.
It is clear that Andrea and Michelle came to the Shark Tank with their eyes set on partnering with Lori Greiner. The pair even sought out the same copacker that she has used with other companies so that she is comfortable jumping on board. Lori loves the product and that Michelle and Andrea have an authentic background from Venice and from NYC, two cities that know their pizza. She also believes that she can replicate the success that she has had with Bantam Bagels and feels that she could be a valuable asset to The Pizza Cupcake too. By utilizing the same distribution channels that she uses with her bagels, she believes that she can easily skyrocket their sales. Ultimately they agree to accept a $125,000 investment from Lori Greiner in exchange for 12.5% equity and 2.5% in advisory shares.

If you were Lori, would have partnered with The Pizza Cupcake? Do you think Michelle and Andrea made a mistake by targeting just one Shark in the Shark Tank? Do you think they could have received a better deal with another Shark? Begin the conversation in the comments below!
